Show Mr. Peterson Weds Miss Anderson In Temple Rites Announcement has been made this week of the marriage of Mart J. Peterson of this city to Miss Mary Anderson of Glendale. The young couple were married Monday, May 28, in the Salt Lake temple. Mr. Peterson is a graduate of the Springville high school, a former for-mer student of the Brigham Young university, and is prominent in musical mu-sical circles as a vocalist. He is the son of Mrs. Mary Peterson. They will make their home in Springville. FRIENDS ENJOYED A CANYON PARTY SATURDAY night in the form of a chicken fry. Those attending were Mr. and Mrs. Harlan Boyer, Mr. and Mrs. Michael Long, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Clark, Mr. and Mrs.' Paul Frand-sen, Frand-sen, Mr. and Mrs. Lee Walker, Mr. and Mrs. Jack Miller, and Mrs. George Nelson. A NEW SORORITY WAS ORGANIZED Monday evening at the home of LaRae Thorpe, and will be known as the Sub-Deb sorority. Girls invited to join the organization organi-zation were Louise Clyde, Luella Huntington, Kathlyn Metcalf, Wil-na Wil-na Brown, Glenna Palfreyman, Enid Ewing, Helen Christensen, Marjorie Simkins, Jane Wain-wright, Wain-wright, Venice Pennington, Clara Bird, Doris Wing, lone Lewis, Phyllis Phyl-lis Bird, Carol Cherrington, Eva Jane Smith, Cecelia Maycock, Dorothy Dor-othy Weight, Elaine McPherson, Almah Miner, Shirley Barrett, Jean Wilkins, Mary Cameron, and LaRae Thorpe. Luncheon was served buffet style from one long table centered with an attractive centerpiece of sailboats, which with other table decorations carried out a nautical theme. Officers of the new organization are: LaRae Thorpe, president; Almah Al-mah Miner, vice-president; Jean Wilkins, secretary; Mary Cameron, Camer-on, corresponding secretary; and Shirley Barrett, reporter. The next meeting will be held Thursday, June 19. MISS DAMA GRANT RETURNED HOME BY PLANE Wednesday from Mills college, California, where she has been attending at-tending school during the past year. She will spent the summer with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Grant, and other relatives and friends, and will return to Mills college next fall for her final year. |
