Show M Men Games Tonight End 2nd Round Play Saturday Night Games Will Open The Final Round Of Play In Kolob Stake M Men Hoop Circuit Tonight's M Men games will mark the close of the second round of play in the Kolob stake with one remaining round of play left. Tonight the Third ward will travel to Mapleton in wha should prove to be an Interesting battle. In the other contest, Second Sec-ond will meet the Fourth ward. Both games are scheduled to begin be-gin at 8 o'clock. First draws a bye. Saturday's Schedule . . . Opening third round games will get underway Saturday night with two feature games scheduled. Mapleton ward will play host to the Second ward while First and Third will meet in the local gym. Both games are set for 8 o'clock. These two contests loom as the outstanding tilts to date with all four clubs boasting a much im-nroved im-nroved team. Should Second defeat Mapleton, they would hold down the second spot in Kolob standings with the First as top-spot leaders regardless of a win or a loss. Last Week's Results . . . First defeated the Mapleton team 21 to 20 after having to overcome a 7 to 0 first quarter lead piled up by the Mapleton club. The game was close throughout through-out with Mapleton leading in the greater part of the game. Not until the close of the third quarter quar-ter did the First squeeze into the lead. L. Weight counted 11 points for the winners, while Mower and N. Whiting counted high with 8 and 6 points, respectively, for the losers. Saturday night's games went to the Second ward over the Third, 33 to 17. Blaine Johnson, with 13 points, and Miner with 10 counters, led their club to victory. C. Johnson and Lester Johnson, with 5 points each, were high counters for the losers. First turned back the Fourth ward In the other game 51 to 23. W. Weight and L. Rothwell tallied 12 and 11 points, respectively, in the win. G. Averett and Clements rolled up 10 and 8 points for top honors for the Fourth warders. |
