Show URGE RELIGIOUS FREEDOM FOR ALL NATIONS Representatives of Protestant churches in this country have asked the government to use its influence to obtain legal provision for religious freedom in all nations. na-tions. In making this request, the Protestant Pro-testant leaders are urging the adoption of a basic American principle prin-ciple which is an admitted fact in 1 this country. The same cannot be said of many foreign countries where there exist relationships between be-tween religion and state that would not be tolerated in the Unit-; ed States. It remains to be seen whether the end of the present struggle will result in the spread of com- j plete religious liberty throughout the world. While we think this would be a distinct gain to the cause of religion everywhere, we considerable doubt as to the realization reali-zation of such a goal. |
