Show Elk Season Will Open Wednesday, Nov. 18 Elk Proclamation For 1942 Issued With Permits, Applications And Districts For Season's Hunting Outlined "The open season during which elk may be legally legal-ly killed during the year 1942 sHall be from November Novem-ber 8-14, both dates inclusive," declares the State Fish & Game commission, "and the chairman of the board snail issue yzu permits for the kilM ing of elk; that such sstimephra ing of elk; that such permits shall be sold for $10.00 each to residents resi-dents of Utah on all districts and for $50.00 to non-residents on all districts." Only one application is permitted permit-ted to each applicant and these applications ap-plications must be in the office of the Fish & Game commission, 329 State Capitol building, not later than 5:00 p. m., October 3, 1942, and the application must state choice of territory and sex of animal ani-mal desired to be taken and must have certified check or money order or-der accompanying application. Drawing for the permits , will take place at 2:00 p. m., October 10, 1942, at the State Capitol building, build-ing, and the commission states, "if for any reason any applicants who have been successful in drawing draw-ing any of the allotted numbers desire to cancel their application before October 31, 1942, their money shall be refunded and the next number in the order of drawing shall be taken to fill in vacancies created by their withdrawal." with-drawal." Nebo District Permits . . . There will be 400 permits in the Nebo district to be issued as follows: fol-lows: 100 permits for elk of either sex for the West Nebo unit (the area on the west slopes of Mt. Nebo bounded, on the south -by Salt Creek, the east by the Nebo Loop road, the north by Payson canyon, can-yon, and on the west by the valley val-ley edge). A total of 150 permits for bull elk and 150 permits for hornless elk on all the remainder of the Nebo area. Non-resident permits shall be limited to 50 on this area. Manti Area ... A total of 250 permits to be issued is-sued as follows: 125 permits .for bull elk and 125 permits for hornless horn-less elk on the area south of the Fairview-Huntington highway. |
