Show SCOUTS REPORT SUCCESS IN PAPER DRIVE Paper Bailed And Loaded In Car Keady For Shipment To Denver, Colo. A total of 22,280 pounds of waste paper has been collected by the Springville and Mapleton scouts in a drive to assist' with the national defense program and to raise funds for their activities, it was reported report-ed this week by Chairman J. T. Wheeler and Fred Averett, directing direct-ing the campaign. The Fourth ward scout troop came first in the amount collected with a total of 5460 pounds. The First ward came a close second with 5145 pounds. The Second ward collected 3330 pounds; the Third, 3740, and Mapleton, 4605. The paper has been bailed and loaded in a car at the depot. When a sufficient amount is collected for a car load, it will be shipped to Denver. In the meantime, citizens are urged to bundle their waste paper and the scouts will call for it on Saturdays. |
