Show War Fond Drive Begins War Fund Dance Set At Mapleton Entertainment Will Begin At 8 P. M. Saturday; Town Expected To Raise $200 A dance and entertainment is being be-ing planned in the Mapleton Amuse-, ment hall on Saturday, March 6, the proceeds to be used for the Mapleton war fund drivp nnnnnnPAs PnvA Scovil, chairman of the project. The entertainment is to begin at 8 p. m., and a cordial invitation is being extended to everyone in Mapleton including adults and young people, as well as those from surrounding towns, to attend There is to be no set charge for the affair but contributions will be received for the Mapleton war fund, which has been set at $200. The war fund this year Is taking the place of the Red Cross membership mem-bership drive and the funds from the drive are to be used for the many services which the American Red Cross performs. Mrs. Elmer Bird is assistant to Mr. Scovil in the war fund drive. As attendants at the dance make their contributions, they will receive a Red Cross button and it is hoped the entire amount assigned as-signed as Mapleton's quota will be raised during the evening. Good music will be provided for the dance and it is also planned to have a few fine musical numbers on the entertainment program. |
