Show Famous Artist Visits Gallery Here Wednesday j Frederic M. Grant of Oakland, Oak-land, Calif., well-known artist, art patron and exhibitor in the Springville Art Gallery, whose works have found a place in the hearts and homes of people in this area, realized a desire of several years, when he visited visit-ed the Art Gallery here Wednesday Wed-nesday for the first time. Townspeople and others who visited the National Art Exhibit in April will remember his Sibelius Si-belius which hung in the West Gallery and also Revelation, prominently exhibited in the East Gallery; also his Fifth Symphony here some time ago, which was purchased by a school at Draper. Mr. Grant has said that when he hears music, it calls color to his mind and he paints what he hears. Through this media, he has won a fine reputation and his work attracts favorable comment where ever it is exhibited. ex-hibited. He was taken on a tour of the gallery Wednesday afternoon after-noon by Mrs. Mae Huntington but could not be reached at press time for a report on his impressions. Mrs. Huntington said, however, that in letters she had received from the artist ar-tist in years past, he had expressed ex-pressed a desire to visit the gallery. Mr. Grant is now working on what he calls his most pretentious preten-tious piece, "Eternal Motherhood." Mother-hood." He said also his plans reach no further than' his visit to Springville and the length of his stay here is indefinite. |
