Show Taxpayers Vote on $1,000,000 Bond Friday Voting Scheduled at Art Building; Booths Open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. Nebo School Dist. board of education has called a bond election for Friday, July 19, in Springville, Spanish Fork, Payson and outlaying communities, to aeiermme whether or not the district will be bonded in the amount of one million dollars for school building build-ing construction and remodeling to relieve classroom shortage. Time and VXa.ce The polls will be open at 7 a.m., and will remain open until un-til 8 p.m. on the day of voting. The first representative district dist-rict which comprises Springville Spring-ville will vote at the high school Art Building. The $1,000,000 bond issue, augumented by current revenue will provide necessary funds to erect three new elementary schools one in Payson, one in Spanish Fork & one in Springville, Spring-ville, the school board states. Improvements and additions to other schools in other communities com-munities where needed, are also al-so planned. Supt. W. V. Brockbank said the district presently is out of debt, but it is impossible to al-liviate al-liviate existing classroom shortage shor-tage on a pay-as-you-go basis. It is expected that no increase in tax levy in addition to that which already exists, will be issue, the superintendent reported. re-ported. He further explained that the bonds can be paid off by maintaining the present mill levy for buildings and sites during the next ten years. , Who May Vote Any properly registered citizen ci-tizen living within Nebo School District who is a property owner own-er and who has paid a property tax within the last year, is eligible eli-gible to vote. Voters should bring their last year's tax receipt to the polls, if possible. However, other arrangements ar-rangements may be made at each polling place would the tax receipts not be available. |
