Plans Announced For New s Lions Club at Mapleton f A Lions club had been set up in Mapleton under the sponsorship of the Springville Lions, it was announced an-nounced this week following the organization meet- ing conducted at Mapleton last Friday. Carlos Hjorth was named temporary tem-porary president with Ralph Har-mer, Har-mer, first vice-president; Jack Canto, second vice-president; Stewart Stew-art Whiting, secretary-treasurer; E. Carnesecca, S. W. Nelson and E. J. Morgan, members of the board of directors. The initial meeting was called under the direction of J. C. Welch, special representative of Lions International, In-ternational, who was in Utah to assist four district governors in organizing new Lions clubs. The regular election of the officers of-ficers is expected to come at a meeting this week. Warren Beard-all Beard-all has been named chairman of the charter night presentation committee com-mittee and Hugh Hjorth, chairman of the finance committee. Further details of the organization organiza-tion will be announced at the meeting meet-ing this week when other officers will also be elected and the charter membership list presented. |
