Show Teen-Age Safety Council Plans Progress at SHS Arrangements are being made at the high school to organize a Springville chapter of the Utah Teen-Ager's Safety Council next week, when officers will be elected and charter members asked to sign the pledge and membership record cards. The purposes of the Council were explained to Principal Paul K. Walker by Harrison Conover, local publisher and member of the Utah State Press Association, which is sponsoring the organization organiza-tion throughout the state. Principal Princi-pal Walker said he would meet with the student body council next week to get the organization going. go-ing. He felt the need of such safety safe-ty measures which comes at the time driver training is beginning at the high school, he said. i The pledge cards will include the name of the Council member together to-gether with the following pledge: 1. That I will obey all posted speed limits at all times and when conditions are unfavorable, I will drive at a reduced speed which is reasonable and proper, and encourage en-courage others to do so. 2. That I will keep my automobile automo-bile in the best mechanical repair at all times to lessen any liklihood of failure of the vehicle. 3. That I will be courteous to other drivers on the highway. 4. That I will use extra precaution precau-tion while driving on unfamiliar roads; that I will observe the rules of safe driving with regards to passing, signaling properly; proper use of traffic lanes; parking off highway for emergency repairs, etc.; That I will cooperate at all times with the Utah Highway Patrol Pa-trol and other law enforcing agencies. agen-cies. 5.
