Benton of Kansas City, Mo., left, one of the most . famous exhibitors, will be among the 225 pictures viewed by federated Club Women during dur-ing the annual Utah State Federation Tea, spon sored by the Springville clubs Saturday afternoon. It is hanging in the East Gallery. The painting right has delighted the many visitors to the Art Gallery during the current annual National April Art Exhibit. Ex-hibit. It is "Along the St. Laurence," by Antonio P. it, ' Martino of Philadelphia, Pa., hanging in the East Gallery. It will also find favor among the four or five hundred ladies of the state attending the Saturday Sat-urday Art Tea and tour of the art exhibition in the local gallery. Annual Art Reception Here Saturday N Scheduled as one of the largest single-day visiting visit-ing groups to the high school art gallery, will be women of the Utah state federated clubs who have been invited to the annual Art Tea Saturday from 3 until 6 p.m. The function is sponsored by the Springville Federated club women and each member may bring a guest. Between 400 and 500 women wo-men are expected. Featuring a theme, "Spring Glory," the event will feature beautiful spring decorations in addition ad-dition to a tour of the galleries a program and refreshments. There will be string music by Ann Johnson, Jane Harrison and Merrill Johnson to add to festive occasion. The Bel Canto Ladies Chorus, directed by Dr. Franklin. Madsen will also perform. In the receiving line will be special guests, Mrs. J. Bracken Lee, wife of the governor, representing repre-senting the women of the state; Mrs. A. W. Cherrington, wife of the mayor, acting as civic hostess; Mrs. L. D. Schroder, state president presi-dent of the Utah Federation of Women's Clubs; Mrs. Reuben K. Davies, president of the Nebo First District; Mrs. Harold Christensen, chairman of the projects division of the general federation of Women's Wo-men's Clubs and Mrs. W. W. Clyde, state art chairman. Also in the line will be the presidents pres-idents of the nine Springville groups sponsoring the tea : Mrs. W. G. Biesinger, Alpha. Beta Club; Mrs. Frank Rigtrup, Aureole; Mrs. Allan Stewart, Companions; Mrs. J. Leonard Harris, Cultural Arts; Mrs. C. W. Judd, Home Culture, Mrs. Grant Thorn, Jeune Mere; Mrs. W. Burton Groesbeck, Ladies' Literary; Mrs. Gogarty, Mothers' Study and Mrs. James M. Livsey, Pari Passu. Group chairmen responsible for preparations are Mrs. Grant Nielsen, Niel-sen, invitations; Mrs. Leonard Har-ward, Har-ward, serving; Mrs. Alton Packard, Pack-ard, decorations; Mrs. A. E. Jac-obsen Jac-obsen and Mrs. Myron Child, catering; cater-ing; Mrs. Max Sumsion, program; Mrs. Floyd Stewart, reception; Mrs. Jack Canto, tables and chairs. The tea will mark the 19th annual an-nual event of its kind in Springville. Spring-ville. The first was held April 14, 1938 as this community's contribution contribu-tion to the entertainment of a three-day state convention held in Provo. |
