Show One Candidate Files for Dist. 3 School Board Job 521ilifertiovwhieh wil be held November 8 in con' nection with the regular city election, elec-tion, it was announced this week. The district which is to name a school board member this fall to succeed LaVon Payne, comprises the towns of Lake Shore, Benjamin, Benja-min, Salem, Thistle, Birdseye, Clinton, Clin-ton, Soldier Summit and Mapleton. There were only two names filed by the deadline October 8, and one withdrew, leaving the lone candidate's candi-date's name, according to report from the Utah county clerk's office of-fice at Provo. Term of office for the successful candidate will be for three years, instead of the previous five years, in order to get the school board election scheduled on the fall election date. Although the deadline is past for filing as a candidate for the school board post, the county clerk's office of-fice reported Wednesday that names may be written in on election elec-tion day. |
