Show Poultry Manager Appointed to National Board Clyde C. Edmonds, general manager man-ager of the Utah Poultry and Farmers Cooperative has been named on the Egg Industrial Advisory Ad-visory committee which is being formed to consult and advise with the Department of Agriculture on egg and poultry problems of the nation. Ezra Taft Benson, Secretary of Agriculture, asked Mr. Edmonds to serve on the committee in a personal letter. Edmonds announced announc-ed that he will accept the assignment. assign-ment. Edmonds attended a special egg conference in Washington last month called by the Department of Agriculture and this permanent perman-ent Egg Industry Advisory committee com-mittee has been established as a result of that meeting. In referring to the last meeting which included poultry leaders from all parts of the nation, Secretary Sec-retary Benson said: "The recommendations recom-mendations that came out of your meeting gave me a great deal of pleasure. I was happy to see that your group believes that the egg industry wishes government assistance assist-ance in the form of better statistics statis-tics and more research work, rather than in the form of price assistance. "This last conference was so successful that we want to make it a permanent advisory committee. I know much gooa will result from it." |
