The flying locust drones his lonesome lone-some dirge Beyond the dusty fence rows sore and hoary; And filmy mists enshroud the distant dis-tant hills, Bespeaking days of Indian Summer Sum-mer glory. These are the times when it's good to be alive. Clear sunny days, just warm enough to make the cool of the evening enjoyable. The other morning I arose at four-thirty; not from choice but from necessity. I had a water turn that couldn't be missed; things were getting really dry. In the hush of the pre-dawn solitude, sol-itude, I turned my eyes upward and beheld a most inspiring sight. Never have the heavens seemed more respendent. The clear dry air of Utah Valley's semi-arid atmosphere atmos-phere made the stars burn with such a firey brilliance, that they seemed almost close enough to touch. In the North the Great Bear pointed unfailingly toward the North Star as he has done for the past millions of years; while in the West the gigantic planet Jupiter shone brilliantly with the reflected light of the hidden sun. To us who live in this war-t,orn world, where hate, strife, and unselfishness un-selfishness so warp our minds, a survey of the heavens in the quiet of the early morning hours is a most comforting experience. One cannot contemplate the wonders of the celestial sphere without being impressed with the thought that the ways of God are always serene and good.
