Show Fifth Grader at Brookside Returns After Long Battle with Poliomyelitis . Sandra Jackman and Karen Jensen, Reporters Fifth grade is glad to have Robert Rob-ert Bartlett back with us after having successfully battled against polio. He is feeling fine again. Mrs. James Lawrence, mother of Lara Lee, came to Mrs. Lewis' room last Friday and entertained the children with two nice stories. We all had a good time. Fifth grade has had Friday and Mnday as test days when they have had several hours of standard achievement tests. A few weeks before they had batteries of mental maturity tests. Now we will be able to see how well our achievement achieve-ment rates against our natural ability, -and how we compare with other children in Nebo district and in the whole nation. Sixth grade has a little new pet, Freezy Peetsy, which got out in the cold last week and got its feet badly frozen. It is a Rhode Island Red chick, about a month old. Because its feet were so badly swollen, we thought maybe they would come off, but they seem to be healing, and again he is walking around on them a bit. We are making surprise presents for our mothers for Christmas. This is another short week, so all the students will be out eating turkey on Thursday. If we learn any lessons that day, we hope they will be of Thanksgiving. |
