Show Mapleton JayCee Wives Contribute Thanksgiving Treat to Youth Home 3 As a result of the lecture given at the November meeting of the Jaycee Wives by Mrs. Hiifc'h Baxter Bax-ter about the needs of the Youth Home in Provo, several officers of the Jaycee Wives presented the home with a supply of apples and oranges for their Thanksgiving. Officers responsible for this contribution con-tribution were Mrs. Rhoda Hansen, Iris Roundy, Beth Bird, Janet Car-nesecca Car-nesecca and Mary Carnesecca. Guests accompanying them were Mrs. Berniece Carnesecca and Janet's Jan-et's mother, Mrs. Mattye Mills. Mrs. Belva Wentz was hostess to the Needle Craft club at her home Thursday afternoon of last week, where the time' was spent in quilting. She was assisted in serving serv-ing refreshments by Vanda Jensen, Alga Mackley, Harriet Nielson and Esther Hurst. Mr. Ralph Alghrin of California was a guest at the home of his aunt and her husband Mr. and Mrs. J. A. Binks last week. Mrs. Binks returned to California with him and is staying at the home of her daughter and husband, Mr. and Mrs. Reese Mower who live at Bell Gardens. They are rejoicing over the arrival of a new baby boy born November 19. Mrs. Binks plans to stay two weeks. I The members of the Sierra Bon- also furnished the musical numbers on the program. The Eudget Banquet for the Mapleton Second ward was held Thursday evening in the ward with Bishop Reed Bennett in charge. Supper was served at long tables cleverly decorated with cornacopia filled with colorful fall fruit. All the organizations of the ward were responsible for serving under the leadership of the Pwelief Society. A fine program was introduced by Glen Seal which consisted of talent from the BYU. The Birthday club were entertained enter-tained at the home of Helen Reynolds Rey-nolds at her home in Springville Friday evening. A delicious hot supper was served to Mr. and Mrs. Chris Sorensen, Mayor and Mrs. Maston Wentz, Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Whiting and the hostess. . Among the Seventies and their wives from Mapleton who attended the Seventies social in the stake house Friday evening were Mr. and Mrs. Reid M. Hales, Mr. and Mrs. Richard Davidson, Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Wing, and Mr. and Mrs. Lee Bartholemew. The High Priests of the Mapleton Maple-ton ward have been reorganized with the following officers sustained: sustain-ed: John C. Parry, group' leader; Willis Harmer, counselor, and Nor- ila club and their husbands were delightfully entertained at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Condie Cran-dall Cran-dall Saturday night. A Thanksgiving Thanksgiv-ing supper was served early in the evening at a long table beautifully decorated with purple heather and tall white tapers. The remainder of the evening was spent in playing play-ing cards with prizes going to Beth Jensen and Douglas Iills. The members of the Mapleton ward enjoyed the experiences of Keith Whitney and his wife Kath-erine Kath-erine which they related of their European tour with the LDS Tabernacle Tab-ernacle choir this summer. They Mrs. Rhetta Perry entertained members of her club at her home Tuesday evening with a turkey supper. The guest list included Mrs. Marian Byron, Mrs. Dorothy Johnson, John-son, Mrs. Varda Swenson of Spanish Span-ish Fork; Mrs. RaNae Cope of Springville; Mrs. Gloria Giles, Mrs. Sylvia Carter and Mrs. Leah Mc-Clellan Mc-Clellan of Provo. After supper, the time was spent visiting. Mrs. Dale L. Olsen of Rigby, Ida., has been a guest at the home of her sister and brother-in-ilaw, Mr. and Mrs. David Perry during the past week. Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Gren have had the company of Mr. and Mrs. Ten Walters of Tooele over the weekend. |
