Show Fry apple raisin fritters for a late breakfast on a weekend morning. morn-ing. Sift together IV2 cups sifted enriched flour, 2 teaspoons baking powder, teaspoon salt, 1 tablespoon table-spoon sugar and teaspoon cinnamon. cin-namon. Combine 1 egg, beaten, cup milk and 1 tablespoon melted shortening. Add IV2 cups chopped apples and V2 cup seedless raisins to liquid mixture. Add to flour mixture, stirring until flour is moistened. Drop by spoonfuls into deep hot fat (375 F.) and fry until brown, turning frequently. Drain on absorbent paper. Serve with syrup and pork sausages. Makes about 16 small fritters. |
