Show J. BALLANTYNE SERVICES ANNOUNCED Mrs. Ann Jane Ballantyne, 85, well known matron and church worker of this city died Wednesday Wednes-day at the home of a daughter, Mrs. Walter LeVack, Salt Lake City with whom she had been the past three months. She was born in Aberdeen, Scotland, Scot-land, January 10, 1854 and spent her early life in that country. She was married to William Ballantyne Bal-lantyne October 10, 1876 in Scotland. Scot-land. In 1907, they came to Springviiie as converts to the L. D. S. church previous to this time their home in Scotland had been headquarters for L. D. S. missionaries for a long time. Mrs. Ballantyne has been active ac-tive in church work here having served as Relief society teacher 20 years. Her husband died in January 1921. Surviving are one son, William Ballantyne, Plymouth, England; two daughters, Mrs. Jeanie Pierce of Spring-vHle and Mrs. LeVack of Salt Lake City; also a brother, Joseph Anderson of Australia and a sister, Mrs. Blanch Grisley of Scotland. Funeral services will be conducted con-ducted Sunday at 1 p. m., in the Second ward chapel. Friends may call at the Claudin funeral home until Sunday morning and then at the home of Mrs. Jeanie Pierce, 383 South Second East street. Burial will be in the Evergreen cemetery. |
