Show FRENCH REPULSE NIGHT ATTACK PARIS, Sept. 20 French troops have repulsed a night attack, at-tack, preceded by heavy artillery artil-lery preparation from the German big guns in the Siegfried line forts, it was understood today. War communique No. 31 of the high command said today; "There was a partial enemy attack at-tack during the night in the region re-gion of the east of the Saar. This atack was repulsed." Previous communique had told of heavy German artillery bombardments, bom-bardments, and it was indicated that the Germans had used for the first time new 16 Vi inch naval guns, mounted on big railroad flat cars, which had been brought up to positions behind the Siegfried line or west wall. k St. |
