Show MRS, AVERETT SERVICES HELD , Final tributes of respect were paid to Mrs. Hannah Elizabeth Parry Averett, 71, wife of Hardy Averett of this city, who died Friday at her home following a long illness of heart trouble, at services Monday afternoon, in the Fourth ward chapel. Solon A. Wood of the ward bishopric, 'had the services in charge. Speakers were S. L. Mendenhall, Men-denhall, former bishop of the Fourth ward and Bishop A. G. Peterson of the First ward. Music was given by Miss Hannah Han-nah Rowland, who rendered a vocal solo, and Miss lone Averett, Aver-ett, organ music. The invocation was offered by Willis E. Strong and the benediction benedic-tion by Alma Fullmer. Norris Binks dedicated the grave at the City cemetery. Mrs. Averett was born in Birkinhead, England, January 15, 1868, a daughter of John and Eleanor Carter Parry. She came to this country with her parents in 1875. They settled in Springville, Spring-ville, where she had since resided. re-sided. She was married in October, Oc-tober, 1884. Mrs. Averett had been in ill health about 14 years. Prior to her illness, she took an active part in church work, serving in the Relief Sociiety and Primary organizations. Surviving, besides her husband, are a daughter and two sons: Mrs. Nellie Child, Thomas R., and Norris B. Averett of Springville; Spring-ville; 12 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; a brother, Frank Parry of Manti and a sister, Mrs. M. E. Binks of Mapleton. ! |
