At a meeting meet-ing of chairmen Tuesday night, progress in every phase of the celebration was reported. There will be a program at the new art building on Sunday. July 4, to which every one in this community and surrounding (f One more name, that of Ida Packard, has been entered en-tered in the art gjieen popularity popu-larity contest to be conducted con-ducted here in connection with the 2-day Fourth of July celebration. The candidates, with the number of votes recorded for each, are announced as follows: fol-lows: Pauline Clyde 210 Elaine Brockbank 131 Dama Grant 130 Roselyn Eddington ....121 Venice Whiting 120 Beth Anderson 116 Ida Packard 110 Venna Marshbanks ....110 Virginia Bird 107 Erma Holley 105 Carol Condie 100 towns will be invited to attend. On Monday, July 5, when the day will be officially observed, a daylight salute, mammoth street .parade, . carnival, . horse, pulling contests, fire works, children's sports and numerous other events wili be held. Climaxing the entire en-tire celebration will be the giving giv-ing of the beautiful new Plymouth Ply-mouth car and other prizes on the night of July 5. Several cash awards will be given the winners in the horse pulling events. The selection of an art queen is progressing, with more names added and more votes given those already announced. This phase of the celebration will continue until near the Fourth of July. While it was announced that the Tripp Drug store would be the place of voting, any other business concern wishing to accommodate ac-commodate voters may do so by contacting committee members at the Springville bank. One dol-lnr dol-lnr will enter a new name on Ihe list of art queen candidate and also give the entrant 100 votes. Thereafter votes will be one cent each. Citizens are urged to collect their tickets from the town merchants mer-chants with each fifty cent purchase. pur-chase. One of them may win the car given away on the last night of the celebration. The entire proceeds of the two-day two-day festivities will be contributed to the art fund, it is stated. The celebration is being sponsored by the American Legion, Kiwauts club, business men and in fact every civic and religious organization organi-zation n the city. A meeting of all committeemen including general and sub-coin-mittes will be held at the Springville Spring-ville bank at 8 p. m., next Tuesday. Tues-day.
