Show H. B.BROWN SPEAKS AT KIWANIS CLUB An especially interesting" and educational ed-ucational talk by Hugh B. Brown of Salt Lake, attorney for the home loan ofifce, featured the meeting of the local Kiwanis club Thursday evening. The meeting was in observance of Canada week, and the general theme of the meeting meet-ing delt with that country. Attorney Brown told of the friendly spirit existing between Canada and the United States. Since 1815 there has been no specific border line protection, he said. He gave a brief account of his experiences as a major of a Canadian Can-adian regiment during the world war, three years of which he spent over seas. S. L. Mendenhall acted as toast- I master during the evening. Vocal I solo, Hannah Rowland. President J. F. Wingate reported that in a communication with CCC Camp officials at Hobble Creek canyon, the club had been asked to cooperate in furnishing entertainment enter-tainment for the camp boys during the summer. It was also announced during the meeting, that several ball teams would be organized in the club, and that a club league would be formed under the leadership leader-ship of Paul Thorn, T. L. Callister, Harold Christensen and C. W. J Bushard. |
