Show Utahns Work For Erosion Grants Through the efforts of Senator ! Elbert D. Thomas and Congressman Congress-man J. W. Robinson, Provo, appropriations ap-propriations will probably be made for erosion work in Utah. Senator Thomas secured the adoption ofan amendment to the agricultural appropriations ap-propriations bill increasing the allocation for soil erosion and range cover experiments. He obtained ob-tained a $250,000 increase, with the proviso that part of the money would be spent in the intermoun-tain intermoun-tain region. In the house, Congressman Robinson Rob-inson has been active in getting through legislation to protect the grazing areas east of Provo and in Davis county, avoiding a recurrence re-currence of disastrous erosion by floods. He is also interested in the establishment of a regional range cover experiment station in the central part of the state. |
