Show Proclamation The mayor and city council of Springville proclaim April 8 to 13 inclusive as clean up week in Springville. Such movement is in behalf be-half of civic betterment, sanitation and beauty and because we the most beautiful, cleanest little city that can be found anywhere. Now, I, George A. Anderson, Mayor of Springville do hereby ask the schools and business houses to close one day during the time designated preferable Monday if the weather is favorable under the direction of our Street and Walk department, to clean the streets of Springville. ( I do further call upon the people of Springville to aid and support sup-port in every manner this campaign and not to expect the city to haul away their individual garbage but to arrange for the disposing of that themselves and to make this an individual also a clean up campaign, and to remove from their premises all rubbish, trash, decaying de-caying vegetable matter and every thing unsightly and as far as possible pos-sible clean, paint and rejuvenate inside as well as outside the buildings and their premises. L. J. Taylor, Fire Chief, wishes to warn citizens against fire hazards. All premises should be made as free as possible of such hazards. It is unlawful to build fires near buildings or combustible materials and then only between the hours of 10 a. m. and 4 p. m. Let's all inspect our own premises and reduce fire hazards to a minimum. |
