Show I Society News eluded most of the southern states, Washington, D. C, New York, Canada, the vicinity around the Great Lakes and the Dakotas. At Fort Mead. South Dakota, they visited Captain and Mrs. Elwood Nye. Mr. and Mrs. George Murdock have returned to their home in Los Angeles, Cal., after several days visit with Mr. Murdock's mother, Mrs. Myrtle Conover in this city. They also visited Yellowstone Yel-lowstone park and spent some time with relatives and friends in Idaho. They were accompanied to California by Mrs. Maude H. Benedict and Mrs. Einer Bjarn-son. Bjarn-son. The former plans to visit ih Los Angeles, Long Beach and at San Diego, Cal., before returning return-ing home. In honor of Mrs. Bjarnson and Mr. and Mrs. Murdock, about 40 relatives entertained at a bonfire bon-fire weiner roast and supper at Vivian park, in Provo canyon Thursday night. Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Robison of Lehi were week end guests of Mr. and Mrs. John Dougall. On Sunday Sun-day the couples motored to the Hot Pots at Heber and over the loop to American Fork canyon. Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Parker and son of Tacoma, Wash., arrived here the first of the week to spend several days vacation with Mrs. Parker's parents, Mr. and Mrs. A. Y. Wheeler and other relatives rela-tives and friends. Miss Helen Palfreyman of this city recently returned from the U. S. A. C, Logan where she attended at-tended three weeks summer school. Mr. and Mrs. M. G. Anderson of Evanston. 111., are spending the summer with Mrs. Anderson'9 mother, Mrs. Anna Mcndenhall and other relatives here. Mrs. Anderson was formerly Miss Florence Flor-ence Mcndenhall. Before coming to Springville, the couple spent about a month Ivaveling in California, Cali-fornia, Texas; Arizona and other southern states. At Safford, they were guests of Mrs. Anderson's brother, Wilford Mcndenhall and family. Mr. and Mrs. Monroe Clark and family recently came from Arizona to spend several weeks of the summer sum-mer here. They are visiKng Miss Sophie Packard, Mrs. Beth Owens, James Clark and other relatives. Miss Priscilla Niclson of this city recently returned from an enjoyable vacation trip to California. Califor-nia. Complimentary to Mrs. Edgar S. Best, formerly Miss Luell Straw, Mrs. Stella Straw entertained at a miscellaneous shower at her home last Friday night. A large number of relatives, neighbors and friends attended. A nicely arranged arrang-ed luncheon- was served by the hoslss and the guest of honor received re-ceived many lovely bridal gifts. Mr. and Mrs! M. G. Anderson of Evanston, 111., accompanied by Miss Velma Mendenhall, spent the Fourth of July at Mirror lake. Miss Maryn Smart entertained at a "lawn" party at her home on Thursday. Progressive games were played earlier in the evening. The high score prizes were won by Miss Yvonne Baker and George Dixon, Provo. Members of the Jovalty club and their partners enjoyed a weiner roast in Hobble Creek canyon can-yon one evening last week. Mr. and Mrs. Marion Robinson and daughters of Salt Lake City, spent the past week with Mrs. Robinson's mother, Mrs. Agnes McKee and other relatives here. The Luckie Sirens 4-H club of the Second ward met at the home of their leader, Mrs. Harriet B. Miner June 29. They elected officers offi-cers as follows; President, Louise Johnson; vice president, Lela Miner; secretary-treasurer, Phyllis Miner; reporter, Clara Miner; song and cheer leader, Lila Johnson, John-son, Helen Brinten. Members of the S. T. club will be entertained Thursday night, July 9, at the home of Mrs. Hazel Harrison. All are invited to be present at 8 o'clock. Mr. and Mrs. W. C. Dunford and children of Salt Lake City, spent several days of the past week as guests of Mr. and Mrs. S. L. Mendenhall, Jr.; and family in this city. . ! Miss Prudence Wride and Miss Elda Hanson, teachers in the schools here last year, are attending attend-ing summer school at the University Univer-sity of Southern California. Miss Ellen Wheeler and Miss Helen Alleman of this city are spending several weeks vacation in California. Mrs. S. L. Mendenhall, Jr., recently re-cently returned from a week-end visit with her sister, Mrs. George Stevenson and family ai? Magna and with Mr. and Mrs. W. C. Dun-ford Dun-ford and family in Salt Lake City. Miss Anna Beardall, accompanied accompan-ied by Miss Myrtle Childs left Friday to attend the American Economic convention at Scathe, Wash. They will visit interesting places in the northwest before returning. A group of friends, including Mr. and Mrs. Dean Stewart, Mr., and Mrs. Max Packard, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Brown and Mr. and Mrs. Theo Phillips, were on an enjoyable trip Sunday to Mirror Lake. Mrs. H. T. Reynolds, Miss Helen Reynolds and Mr. and Mrs'. Mack Dougall have just returned from a six weeks trip to the eastern and southern states: Mrs. Reynolds and daughter Helen went to St. Louis where they were met by Mr. and Mrs. Dougall and continued the triy by auto.
