Show . w I Local : Delegates to the state Legion convention at Price August 5, 6 and 7, were elected at a recent meeting of the local post as follows: fol-lows: LaVar Anderson, V. O. Hafen, Fred Nielson, Ed Johnson, Paul Frandsen, Bill Phillips; alternates, al-ternates, F. C. Packard, John Miller, Orland Thorn, Mack Whitney, Whit-ney, J. W. Grant and Michael Long. Legion auxiliary members who plan to attend the annual party at Memorial hall Saturday at 8 p. m., must make reservations with Chairman Emma Gardner or President Inez Chader, by Thurs- day night. Husbands of members will be special guests. Wilford Manwaring, member of the First ward bishopric, is recovering re-covering from a severe heart attack at-tack which he suffered last week while on a camping trip with a group of Boy Scouts on Grand-daddy Grand-daddy lakes. When he became ill several of the boys applied their knowledge of first aid while others hiked a distance of several miles and secured a horse on which Mr. Manwaring was carried to the truck at the foot of the mountain, moun-tain, and from there was taken to his home. While his condition is serious, he is expected to recover. re-cover. The M. I. A. stake presidency wishes to thank all those who in any way assisted with the July 24 celebration here the past week, and especially Hugh Baxter, Bax-ter, Mrs. Maude Peterson and the Daughters of Utah Pioneers, under whose direction the major events of the day took place. The annual outing of Kolob stake is scheduled to take place on August 25, the place to be announced later. A program of entertainment is being worked out under direction of the M.I.-A. M.I.-A. activity committee and will also be announced in a later paper. |
