Show NAVY BOMBERS ON NEW FLIGHT HONOLULU, T. H., Sept. 7 (U.n Seventeen navy patrol bombers landed at Pearl harbor today, completing a record-breaking flight from San Diego. The first plane landed at 4:39 a. m. Honolulu time (8:09 a. m. mst) and the others followed in quick succession. Unofficial elapsed time of the flight was 17 hours and 31 minutes, breaking by more than two hours and a half the old navy record of 20 hours 30 minutes for the San Diego-Honolulu hop. It was pointed out that this was the fastest flight ever made from San Diego to Honolulu. The next fastest was the flight of Richard Archbold, wealthy explorer ex-plorer who flew his "flying laboratory from San Diego in 18 hours 7 minutes on the first lap of a trans-Pacific exploration trip to Dutch New Guinea, |
