Show MAPLETON BY THOIiA WHITING A Christmas entertainment was sponsored by the M. I. A. last Tuesday night, for the members of the ward. A one-act play and several musical numbers featured the first part of the evening. Later they danced, an M. I. A. dance, the "Lancers Quadrille" was demonstrated. A large crowd attended at-tended and very good time was enjoyed en-joyed by everyone. The Daughters of the Pioneers entertained their daughters at a party given in the school house,, Monday night. It was in the form of a "Rug Rag Bee" as everyone every-one sewed rug rags the first part of the evening. The program featured fea-tured several old pioneer dances, songs, readings, and some ' of the older members told stories of their pioneer experiences and those of their mothers and fathers. Candy and nuts were served to approximately approxi-mately fifty mothers and daughters. daugh-ters. Mr. and Mrs. Walden Hurst are the proud parents of a Daby girl, born Monday at their home in Mapleton. Sunday night was the homecoming homecom-ing for Miss Mary LeRoy who recently re-cently returned after filling a mission to the eastern states. The home missionaries were in charge of the program. The program was as follows: A solo, by Harley Whiting, a talk on her experiences by Miss LeRoy, a duet by Mrs. Beth Jensen and Mrs. Marie Whiting, a talk by Ammon LeRoy, Le-Roy, a talk by Bishop Frank Jensen, Jen-sen, and a song by the Mapleton male quartet. Mr. and Mrs. Verl Jensen are the parents of a baby girl born at their home, Friday. Mrs. Jensen was formerly Miss - Jane Bagley I of Springville. ! |
