Show SOCIETY N&VS Mrs. H. T. Reynolds, Sr. of this city announces the engagement of her daughter Josephine, to John Mac Dougall, son of Mr. and Mrs. John W. Dougall, also of this city, the marriage to take place New Year's day at the home of the bride's mother. Miss Reynolds, a daughter of the late H. T. Reynolds, Sr., is a graduate of the University of Utah and a member of the Delta Delta Delta and the Alpha Beta Theta sororities. She has been employed em-ployed with the Springville Banking Bank-ing company for some time. Mr. Dougall, a member of the Pi Beta Phi, honorary medical fraternity, a graduate of the Brigham Young university and the medical school of the U of U., is now attending the Washington university, at St. Louis, Mo. Following the marriage mar-riage ceremony, a reception will 1 be given at the home of the bride's mother. The couple plan to make their home in St. Louis, Mo. Mrs. Harold Christensen of this city attended a nicely arranged 1 o'clock bridge luncheon, given by Mrs. Karl Crandall, at her home in Salt Lake City Saturday afternoon, after-noon, in honor of their cousin, Miss Helen Rothwell who will be married mar-ried New Year's day. Mrs. LaVon Averett will be hostess to the Old Friends club at their annual Christmas party, Friday Fri-day evening. All are urged to be present. Mrs. Bernard Robertson entertained enter-tained a number of little friends at her home Saturday, in honor of her little, son, Mat, who was seven years old. Games and a tasty luncheon featured the afternoon's aft-ernoon's entertainment. Members of the Home Culture club will be entertained Friday at 7 o'clock, at their annual Christmas Christ-mas party, at the home of Mrs. M. W. Bird. Mrs. Harrison Con-over Con-over will also be assisting hostess. The Seagull class of the Fourth ward, under the direction of their leader, Mrs. Estella Ollerton, were entertained at an enjoyable party Monday night at the home of Miss Helen Christensen. A delightful program of games was followed by a delicious luncheon served to the following: Louise Long, Louise Clyde, Cecelia Maycock, Wilna Brown, Betty Whiting, Norma Roylance, Erina and Elma Patrick, Ladean Childs, Dixie Gabbitis, Ladean Buckley, Enid Ewing, Lor-aine Lor-aine Thorn, Thonna Holt, Melba proximately 150 relatives and friends attended. The wedding announcements, in the form of miniature silver wedding bells, were presented by little Miss Nana Lee Reynolds. An attractive color, scheme in silver and white, was employed at the tea, a gorgeous imported banquet cloth covering the dining table which also held a centerpiece of white bride's roses with silver candelabra at either end. In the receiving line were Mrs. H. T. Reynolds. Jr., Miss Josephine Joseph-ine Reynolds, Mrs. H. T. Reynolds, Sr., and Mrs. John Dougall. Mrs. Miles E. Miller of Salt Lake City, was in charge of the dining room. Pouring were Miss Helen Reynolds, Reyn-olds, Mrs. Josephine Robinson of Lehi, Mrs. Theo Hughes of Provo, Pro-vo, Miss Carol Bird, Mrs. LeRoy Cowles, Mrs. Harold Mendenhall, Salt Lake City, Mrs. Charles Boyer and Mrs. C. G. Salisbury. Assisting with the serving were Miss Aleen McKenzie, Miss Josephine Jos-ephine McKenzie, Miss Ida Packard, Pack-ard, Miss Helen Boyer, Miss Ber-nice Ber-nice Ncilson, of Springville, Miss Beatrice Kerr, Miss Edna Reese, Misses Dorothy and Frances Stacey, Mrs. Monroe Wissmer, Mrs. Webster Jones, sorority sisters sis-ters of the bride from Salt Lake i City. Musical entertainment during dur-ing the afternoon was furnished by Mrs. F. C. Packard, Mrs. Inez Bird, Nana Lee and Richard Reynolds. Mrs. Rca Straw was hostess to members of the Current Study club at their Christmas party, Monday Mon-day evening. Miss Prudence Wride and Miss Ellen Wheeler were in charge of the evening's entertainment. entertain-ment. A delicious luncheon was served early in the evening followed follow-ed by bridge, prizes in the latter being awarded to Miss Nell Mat-ley Mat-ley of Spanish Fork and Miss Helen Palfrcyman. A special feature fea-ture of the evening which was especially enjoyed by all was music by Miss Carol and Aleen Condie, Miss lone Averett and Miss Claudie Billings. Also a surprise sur-prise visit from Santa Claus brought each member a useful . Christmas gift. Gifts were exchanged ex-changed among the following members and guests: Miss Leone Cooper, Miss Melba Sumsion, Miss Luell Straw, Miss Elda Hanser Anderson, Dorus Wing, Lanore Allan. Mrs. Ollerton and the hostess who was assisted with the party by Mrs. Christensen. Members of the Entre Nous club and their partners and a. number of guests were pleasantly entertained enter-tained at a Christmas party Saturday Sat-urday night, at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Owen Rowe. A beautifully beauti-fully arranged decorative scheme suggestive of Christmas was used throughout the entertaining rooms and during the tasty lunch-con, lunch-con, served early in the evening. Bridge furnished the evening's entertainment, six tables for the games being arranged. An especially espe-cially entertaining feature of the party was the exchange of Christmas Christ-mas gifts among those present. The Dance club unit of the Brig-ham Brig-ham Young university was entertained enter-tained at a business meeting and social. Tuesday night, at the home of Mrs. Tess C. Packard. Following Follow-ing a short business session, a delicious luncheon was served by the hostess assisted by her mother, moth-er, Mrs. Ivan Child. Christmas decorations were beautifully arranged ar-ranged about the entertaining rooms and the exchange of gifts concluded the party.
