Show Local . Merle Sargent, manager of the local D. T. R. company store, is reported improving from a major ma-jor operation performed Monday at the Payson 'hospital. The Fourth ward annual scout and parents' banquet and program pro-gram is set for February 19, in the ward amusement hall. Mrs. Ed Johnson has been named chairman of the banquet to t assisted by scouts and scout leaders. lead-ers. Approximately 90 are expected ex-pected to attend. Lyall Hatch, son of Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Hatch of the Fourth ward, has accepted a call to the north central states L. D. S. mission. He will leave in the near future. Frank Brown has been appointed appoint-ed Fourth L. D. S. ward.- clerk, succeeding Will Harrison, who has held the position for many years and has now resigned because be-cause of ill health. Hugh Hjorth who recently returned re-turned from an L. D. S. mission in Norway, will be the principal speaker at a meeting in the Second ward Sunday, beginning at 7 p. m. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Otis Hjorth. In addition addi-tion to his talk, a splendid musical mu-sical program is being arranged for the occasion. The M Men and Gleaners of the Second ward will act as hosts and hostess at a Valentine program pro-gram and dance social Tuesday night, in the Second ward hall. Attractive decorations to carry out the Valentine idea is being completed. The entertainment will begin with a program at 7:30 p. m., with a dance to follow fol-low at about 8:30 p. m. Mrs. John R. Anderson and Mrs. E. S. Groesbeck, Gleaner leaders, and Harold Christensen, M. Men leader, lead-er, have arrangements in charge. Officers of the Mill Pond Springs Irrigation company were re-elected at an annual meeting Tuesday night, as follows: Willis Sumsion, J. A. Packard, Lee Sumsion, Arthur Finley, Frank Averett and Glenn Sumsion, secretary. sec-retary. These officers will appoint ap-point a president. |
