Show FIRE DEPT. MAKES REPORT The Springville fire department responded to 23 fires during the past year, eleven of which were in the city, nine in the county and three at Mapleton. There was also one run made to Thistle. The estimated value of endangered en-dangered property in the city was $15,850; with but $75 damage dam-age done by the fires. The estimated esti-mated value of property endangered en-dangered by fires in -the county was $9,700 with $3,660 actual damage. Responsible for the large amount of damage by county fires was the Barker-Averett ranch house fire in Hobble Creek canyon requiring a 20-minute run by the department. I The estimated value of property prop-erty endangered at Mapleton was $8,500 with damage estimated at $2,010 for the year. There was an average attendance attend-ance of 13 firemen at each fire. An interesting item of the report re-port was that of the 23 fires, 12 of them occurred during the months of July and August., |
