Show Armistice Rites Planned at Payson PAYSON -The observance of Armistice day in Payson on Friday, Fri-day, November 11, is being- sponsored spon-sored by the Payson Post No. 48, American Legion. Following programs pro-grams in the schoola at 11 a. m. the activities will conclude with a dance for the public In the Junior high school auditorium. The Legion Le-gion will give away one hundred dollars worth of prizes. The program at the High school will begin with the advance of colors by the Legion and prayer by their chaplain; selections by the school toand ; patriotic reading. read-ing. Miss Louise Whimpey; Armistice Arm-istice day address, Mrs. Lottie Worthen of Provo, past legion auxiliary department president; selections, auxiliary chorus; silent tribute and taps. The program at the Junior high school will be in charge of Post Commander Frank Thomas. The patriotic address will be delivered by Superintendent Owen L. Harnett; Har-nett; male quartet, Golden Taylor, Tay-lor, Arthur Jones, Milton Perkins and William Mortimer; reading, ' Miss Lenore Sterling; vocal solo, Mrs. Irene Provstgaard; piano solo, Mrs.' Ida Perkins; numbers, auxiliary chorus. Two other programs will be given at the Junior high school in connection with Education week and the public is invited. A band concert is to be given on Wednesday Wednes-day and a program from B. Y. U. on Thursday. |
