Show DUBLIN PLAZA HALL RUINED DUBLIN, April 24 (U.EI Dublin's Dub-lin's great Plaza hall, scene of the Irish Hospital sweepstakes, was almost destroyed by fire today. With the interior of the building went the great drum from which sweep counterfoils were drawn. It was feared many ledgers recording record-ing counterfoils were burned. It was reported that the fire was started Ty Incendiaries. A few hours after the fire started start-ed this morning, and all the firemen fire-men in Greater Dublin who could be spared had fought vainly to save the bill hall, only its four walls were standing. The giant drum, designed for the sweepstakes, the only one of its kind in the world, was left a twisted mass of metal. |
