Show P. L STEWART SERVICES HELD Largely attendee ana impressive funeral services for Phillip Loraine Stewart, florist, and well known citizen of this community, who died Thursday of complications following scarlet fever, at the family residence on South Main street, were held Sunday, at the Second ward chapel. The gorgeous gorge-ous floral offerings bespoke the sympathy and respect of his many friends, both here and from out of town. S. J. Boyer of the Second ward bishopric presided at the services. The speakers were President J. Emmett Bird of Kolob stake; Bishop Isaac Briggs of Spanish Fork and Bishop E. A. Strong of the Second ward. The musical numbers, all requested re-quested were given as follows, vocal solo, "Last Night," Gilbert Johnson, accompanied by Blanch Jones of Spanish Fork; vocal iluet, "The House at the End of the Lane," Harold and Glenn Hol-ley, Hol-ley, accompanied by Mrs. Mary VV. Bird; organ solo, "The End it a Perfect Day," Mrs. Mary S. Boyer; vocal duet, "When You're Cone I Won't Forget' You," Ed Williams and Jennie W. Swenson of Spanish Fork, accompanied by Mrs. Mary W. Bird. The invocation was offered by George Simkins and the benediction benedic-tion by Earl B. Sumsion. Interment Inter-ment was in the Evergreen cemetery, ceme-tery, where the grave was dedicated dedi-cated by Otis A. Hjorth. Mr. Stewart was born April 19, 1902, a son of LaVar and Jane Pace Stewart. He attended grade and high school here. He married Sarah Bell Hanson, June 2, 1926, in the Salt Lake temple. Surviving, besides the widow are one son Marvin H. Stewart, the parents and two brothers and a sister, Floyd, Dean and Wanda Stewart, Springville. |
