Show 400 Baby Chicks Lost In Blaze SPANISH FORK Fire believed to have started from a brooder, destroyed 400 baby chicks and partially destroyed the chicken coop at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Hales at Second North and Seventh East street Friday afternoon. after-noon. The Spanish Fork firemen responded to the alarm and in ten minutes after they arrrived had gained control of the fire and kept it from destroying the chicken chick-en coops. A cow, several hogs and other livestock, a stack of hay very close to the coops and the home a short distance away were saved by the promptness of the fire department. The damage was estimated at about $125 with no insurance. |
