Show SPANISH FORK YOUTH KILLED Floyd Vincent, 20, of Spanish Fork, died following a premature pre-mature blasting powder explosion near ithe. summit of Mount Charleston in Nevada Monday. He was working during the summer for the national parks service. Vincent, who won the Dr. Joseph Hughes efficiency medal on his graduation from Spanish Fork high school in 1935, was constructing trail for a loop trip from Kyle canyon lodge to the summit. The sudden blast, used in i boulder removal, trapped the young man. It was reported that Ma r k Murry, former B. Y. U . athletic star now living in Las Vegas, who was working with him, was uninjured, but suffered from shock. Forestry and CCC men were to pack the body clown the Mountain, and put it on the train at Las Vegas. Vincent was a junior at Utah State Agricultural college. He as a son of Willard and Fanny Clayson Vincent, born August 14, 1917. His parents survive; sur-vive; a brother, Leon; and three sisters, Mildred, Eva Jean and Alton Vincent, all of Spanish Fork. His granifparents, Mr. and Mrs. William Clayson of Payson and Willard Vincent of Spanish Fork, also are living. - - |
