Show Activities Of City Sports j SOFTBALL RESULTS The second-half of the Industrial Indus-trial league schedule is well under way with the Eddington Canner out in front with two wins and no losses. The American Legion is second with one win and no losses. The games played up to date have been high class, marking an improvement over the first half. Last Friday's games, which started the second half, found Square Deal Merc winning a lop-, sided game from Jack's Service, 15 to 2. The Canners and Missions gave the large crowd present seven innings of hair-raising ball. The Canners led 4 to 3, in the first inning and at the end of the fourth, Mission Cafe took the lead, 8 to 4 only to lose it in the last of the fifth, 9 to 8. .At the first of the seventh the game was lied with two away and George Bird at bat. On the first pitched ball, he knocked a long hard fly between center and right field for a home run, to win the game for the Canners. Thursday's Results Pinney Beverage defeated the American Legion 6 to 2. The Mapleton girls' team won from Dennie's Own in a very convincing con-vincing manner, 9 to 3. Tuesday's Results American Legion 10, Mission Cafe 4. Eddington Canners 5, Square Deal Merc. 2.
