Show FISH AND GAME MEET HELD HERE A more equal distribution of big game as a means of solving the overcrowded conditions in some areas was one of "the points urged by Commissioner Newell B. Cook of the state fish and game department, at a meeting of the local sportsmen here, Friday night. Commissioner Cook also in a report re-port of the improvements in hunt- : ing and fishing facilities in the 1 state, stated that approximately $350,000 had been spent the past three years, on worthy fish and game projects. . Vice President Guy Brown, in charge of the meeting, announced a meeting to elect new officers of the local Sportsmen's association, associa-tion, February 8, at the fire hall. He also stated that the sportsmen sports-men were sponsoring a rabbit hunt ' Sunday, in the vicinity of Nephi. j Other speakers during the evening eve-ning were Sidney Belmont and Harold Makin of Provo, who told of the recent capture of five elk in the vicinity of Provo canyin, and Clarence "Chick" Evans of the state fish and game commission. Music during the evening was furnished by Dick Conover and company, and James Curtis of Mapleton. Lunch was served in conclusion to about 75 members and guests. |
