Show Richards Speaks At BYU Assembly The dominance or intelligence, the concept of the fatherhood of God, and the doctrine of the holy priesthood are factors in the "new interpretation of the Gospel oi Jesus Christ." Elder Stephen L Richards of the L. D. S. council of the Twelve declared to Brigham Young university faculty and students stu-dents in their devotional assembly assem-bly tvec'nesday in College hall. "Before the advent of the restored re-stored gospel in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, No Christian literature had ever : expressed the relationship of intelligence intel-ligence and truth which was set J forth in its modern scriptures,'1 j the speaker said- "This concept :lies at the basis of all human progress, prog-ress, the freedom of thought, action, ac-tion, and will. It justifies the eternal quest of knowledge, a search which leads to progress. Elder Richards, who is a member mem-ber of the board of trustees of Hrigham Young university, congratulated con-gratulated the institution in having hav-ing the largest autumn student body it has ever enrolled. ''The church university now has the brightest and most secure prospects pros-pects of advance and progression that it has ever had." he declared. Music for the devotional period was furnished by the university mixed chorus, which sang "What Was Witnessed in the Heavens,'' under direction of Dr. Franklin Madsen. |
