Show Leaders Claim 56 Votes for Neutrality Bill WASHINGTON, Oct. 4 (I.P) Administration leauers today claimrd 56 votes pledged tor President Roosevelt's neutrality program. .They were cheered by two developments: 1. A radio speech last night by Sen. George W. Norns, Ind., Neb., only remaining member ol a group of six senators who voted vot-ed against this country's entry into the World war in 1917. Norns Nor-ns said he "fervently" believod the administration's plan "will keep us out" ol war. 2. A possibility that Sen. Carter Car-ter Glass, D., Va., elder statesman states-man who announced his support of the proposed program after d long series of bitter differences with the administration, may find his health improved sufficiently suf-ficiently to speak, either In a broadcast or in the senate. |
