A discussion discus-sion of work for the coming month was led by President Mae Crandall. Miss Venita Peterson was hostess host-ess at a delightful New Year's eve paity at her home Thursday. En-tei En-tei taining rooms were gay with holiday hol-iday decorations. The evening was spent with progressive games during dur-ing which Miss Lucy Zabriskie won high point favoi. Music and social chat were other features of the party with guests, Misses Louise and Evelyn Metcalf, Edna Brim-hall, Brim-hall, Jane Bagley, Harriet Miner, Charlotte Hall, Minnie Henderson, Ulalia Condie, Nii.omi Maycock and Lucy Zabriskie m attendance. Mr. and Mis. Glenn Dailin had as guests Saturday evening Mr. and Mrs. Glenn Allan and Mr. and Mrs. Lee Davis. In compliment to her little daugh-i daugh-i ter Bernice whose seventh birthr day occurred Saturday, Mrs. Ainer Chader entertained at a well arranged ar-ranged party at he home from 4 until 6 o'clock. A variety of games were supervised by the hostess after which a dainty lunch was served. Many pretty gifts were received re-ceived by the honored guest. - A well-arranged New Year's day dinner was given by Mr. and Mrs. Frank Salisbury at their home with covers laid for Mrs. Colista Boyer, I Mr. and Mrs. Charles Boyer and Mr. and Mrs. W. F. Boyer of Salt Lake City. Members of the Boyer .family spent a delightful New Year's eve at the home of Mr. and Mrs.' Charles Bayer. Dinner was served in the early evening followed by. music, games and social chat. Present Pres-ent were Mr. and Mrs. P. O. Boyer, Boy-er, Mr. and Mrs. D. A. Boyer and Mr. and Mrs. W. P. After the dance at Mapleton New Year's eve, Mi. and Mrs. Ar-ihur Ar-ihur Finiey entertained at luncheon lunch-eon at their home for Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Hawkins, Mr. and Mrs. Leon Harrison, Mr. and Mrs. Jack Perham and Mi. and Mrs. RuFon Maughn of Pay son. Mrs. W. A. Bird and daughter Clara, Mrs. W. G. Parker, Mrs. j Lloyd Bird anu children and Mrs. i Arvil Bird and children were guests 1 Saturday at the home of Mrs. Floyd Harmer and family at Payson. Members of the Service Star Legion Le-gion will be entertained Thursday, Jan. 15, .at the home of Mrs. Reba Reynolds. Thompson entertained New Year's day for her son, James, whose tenth birthday occurred last Tuesday. Early in the evening eve-ning a chili supper was served and the girls observed the old year out and the new in with games, music and dancing. The following morning Mrs. Miner served a delicious de-licious waffle breakfast. Members of the Social Twelve card club will meet with Mrs. Emma Em-ma Rowland Thursday evening, Jan. 8, beginning at 8 o'clock. All members are asked to be present. Mr. and Mrs. R. O. Thorn of Benjamin and Mr. and Mrs. Walter Wal-ter Harrison of Heber were guests of Mrs. E. A. Bryan New Year's day. A nicely arranged dinner was given by Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Fin-ley Fin-ley at their home on New Year's day with covers laid for Mr. and Mrs. Mell Royiance, Mr. and rMs. Honoring Moroni Miner who celebrated cele-brated his ninty-fifth birthday anniversary an-niversary last June, two of his daughters, Mrs. Ruth Beninon of ' Vernal and Mrs. Elizabeth Whit-more Whit-more of this city, entertained at a sumptuous tuikey dinner at the Miner home Thuisday. Guests present pres-ent including children, grandchildren grandchil-dren p and great grandchildren of Mr. Miner numbered 35. Desprte. iiis years. Mr. Miner is hale and hearty and according to report, en-poyed en-poyed the social and dinne apparently appar-ently as much as the youngest. A special feature of the day was th writing' of a birthday letter to Thorn Miner, a former resident of Springville, now living in Philadelphia, Philadel-phia, in which each of the guests pesent sent their best wishes. Reminiscences of Mr. Miner and a program of music were other enjoyable en-joyable features ot the day. In honor of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Mell Royiance, Mrs. Arthur Finiey entertained at dinner at home Sunday evening. Covers- were laid for Mr. and Mrs. Frank Speck-hart, Speck-hart, Mrs. F. D. Warner and Mrs. Mattie Hinckley of Provo, Mr. and Mrs. S. L. Mendenhall, Sr., and Mr. and Mrs. Harry Hanford of this city. Members of the N. I. P. club will be entertained Saturday evening et the home of Miss Mabel Averett. AH are invited to be present at' 8 o'clock. - A prominent social event of the season was the annual banquet and program of the Springville firemen fire-men and their partners held Monday Mon-day evening at the fire hall. Special Spe-cial guests included Mayor and Mrs. George A.
