Show RELIEF PLAN 1 DISAPPROVED That the present non-employcd relief set-up in Utah county docs not meet with the approval of Uio central relief committee of (10 state, is the declaration of a com. mittce from the local unemployed organization who conferred with Gus P. Bachman, member of Uie state committee, Monday after-noon. after-noon. The members of the committee were N. A. Peterson, W. J. Holder Ralph Elliott, J. R. Dailey, J. u' Moore and Harry Butler. According to the story told l,v members of the delegation, Uicy were told by Mr. Bachman thut the laborers must be paid in cash and groceries could be given out in extreme cases. In regard to the wage scale, they were told by Mr. Bachman that it was never intended that this 1C lief money should tear clown the high standard of wages, and cited Salt Lake as an example where lhG regular union wages were bcinB paid. |
