Show MRS. WHEELER CELEBRATES ANNIVERSARY. Commemorating the eightieth birthday anniversary of Mrs. Ellen '. Maria Wheeler. her children, neighbors and a few close friends surprised her with a party at her home Monday afternoon. The birthdays of the twelve oldest i guests totaled 976; David Wheeler, a brother-in-law, and Mrs. Elizabeth Eliza-beth Giles, both past 90 years, being the oldest in attendance. Mrs. Wheeler was born on the sailing vessel, Ellen Maria, February Febru-ary 8. 1852, just iOur days after her parents, Thomas and Tabitha Child, left England to come to Utah as converts to the L. D. S. church. The family lived in Salt Lake three year's, coming to Springville in 1355. Mrs. Wheeler has lived in the same home since her marriage t0 years ago. Tt is surrounded by one of the prettiest flower gardens in the city, the work of which is done almost entirely by Mrs. Wheeler. Her husband, Walter Wheeler, died two years ago. Seven of nine children are living: Mrs. J. O. Reynolds, Mrs. A. W. Cherring-ton, Cherring-ton, Mrs. Dimick Childs, A. Y. and J. T. Wheeler, Springville; Mrs. f Gibson Sanford, Paul, Idaho; Mrs. A. B. Olsen, Salt Lake. |
