Show SPRINGVILLE , NEWS BRIEFS . The following ladies enjoyed a Wdge tea at Provo last Friday afternoon: Mrs. R. L. Done, Mrs. Wallace Mace, Mrs. Charles lioyer, Mrs. S. C. Whittaker, Mrs. Melvin Done, Mrs. G. L. Barron, Mrs. Chid Packard, Mrs. Mack Dougall, Mrs. John Wilkins, Miss Ida Warthen, Mrs. Gvi8 Johnson and Mrs. D. A. Smitb. The Home Culture club will entertain en-tertain at a social Saturday afternoon, after-noon, May 1(, at 2 p. m., in the Remolds hall over the store. A good program will be furnished, llridge and "500" will be played. For those who do not play. either of these games, a cozy corner will be provided for where the ladies may sew. Elaborate prizes for the winners in cards will be given. Everyone is invited to attend. The sum of fifty cents will be charged the proceeds of the social are to go for the painting of Dr. Smart's portrait .which will be contributed to the high school art gallery. Mr. and Mrs. Max Kless motored to Mammoth Sunday and spent the day with friends. Miss Marjorto Parker who is attending at-tending school in Suit Lake spent last week-end here. Mr. and Mrs. John Fox are proud parents of a baby boy. Selvoy Boyer has returned to his home here after having fulfilled a mission to the British Isles. Mr. and Mrs. G. It. Dallin motored motor-ed to Salt Lake City last Saturday evening to attend the dance and luncheon given by the stationary Engineers. A baby boy was born to Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Perry last Saturday. Mrs. Perry was formerly Miss Melva Brown. Miss Merel Clark who is living in Salt Lake spent this week here, visiting with friends. Mr. and Mrs. 'C. L. Dyet, Mrs. William Dyet, and Miss Eiva Dyet, inotoiL-d from Soldier Summit to Sprin:'wlle Monday, and from here to Salt Lake City. They were accompanied ac-companied by Mr. and Mrs. James E. Wonnacott. Mrs. J. R. Goldsborough went to Salt Lake this week to attend the Basheba Smith reunion. ...,.. Mrs. Lewis J. Whitney will be hostess to the Mother's Study club this afternoon. Allen, Mrs. Lyman Noyes, and Mrs. Ward Mc Oil lister motored from Salt Lake Thursday to visit with relatives and I attend the Art program. Dr. Allen pledged a picture to the Springville nigh si houl trt collection. Mrs. Eunice Molen of Great Falls, Montana, is visiting with her daughter daugh-ter Mrs. C. B. Murray., Mr. and Mrs. B. D. Palfreyman motored to Richfield, Idaho, Thursday to visit Mrs. Palfreyman's mother, Mrs. L. G. Metcalf. Miss Florence Childs, who is attending at-tending the U. A. C. at Logan, was chosen as one of the twenty-eight students of the college having the highest grades in tho four years of college. Miss Childs graduates this month. , Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Peterson, and Mr. and Mrs. Manford Hutch-euson Hutch-euson wore the dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Fin Icy Monday. The Alpha Beta club met at the home of Mrs. Mark Cook, May 1. President Ada B. Straw presided. The program was as follows: community com-munity singing, "The golden Honeymoon," Honey-moon," by Ring Lardner was given by Mrs. Katherine Salisbury, piano solos, Mrs. Belle Crandall; "The Revolt of Mother," by Mary E. Wilkins, Wil-kins, was given by Mrs. Emma Russell. Rus-sell. Dainty ' refreshments were served to seventeen members and one guest, Mrs. Thomas of Salt Lake City. The club presented the high school with $50 for the art fund. Mrs. Fiiye Hancock of Paysou visited with Mrs. Dennis Palfreyman, Palfrey-man, Tuesday. Mrs. Delia Clark and Mrs. Rose Boyer were the dinner guests of Mrs. Dennis Pulfreyman, Monday. |
