Show INSTRUCTOR GIVES FINE TALKONART Tbe last of a series of art lectures lec-tures was given in the art gallery Tuesday by LeOonte Stewart, of Kaysville, art instructor in the Og-, den high school and a contributer to the Springville exhibit. Mr. Stewart praised the high quality of the exhibit and in a 1 brief way traced tbe expression of art from the ancient stone carvings up to the present time. He pointed out how well the art of a nation expresses the manners and customs of tbe people, and added tbut the world has learned more about the Greeks and Romans through their works of art than from all their books. i He spoke of the technique of different dif-ferent artists, their ways of putting : on paint, their organization of subjects sub-jects and pointed out several pictures pic-tures in the gallery to illustrate his statements. , His talk was not only interesting but was highly instructive. Preceding Mr.' Stewart, a chorus of high school girls, under the direction direc-tion of J. K. Booth, sang a number Miss Josephine Sanford played the accompaniment. |
