Show Courting Publicity A motion picture actress, who registers from Hollywood, is living for six days in the glass show window of an Oakland department store. She has just completed a similar stunt in San Francisco. In Paris a dancer jumps into the Seine, is promptly pulled pull-ed out, and the story with pictures is given to the world. They know, their managers know, and their press agents know that the resulting publicity is worth thousands of dollars. dol-lars. Realty men know that people like to buy homes in streets possessing names which sound well in the society columns. All of which means, if it means anything, that it pays to advertise. |
