Show Local Artist's I Work Admired' With a display of 14 oil pnintinss and three water colors, Prof. B. p. Larsen of this city has won the praise of many lovers of art through his exhibit at the Salt Lake chamber of commerce. Mr. Larson's work! has been on exhibition since Sun-! day nighat which time the exhibit) was opened under the Association of Encouragement of Intel-mountain Artists. Dr. George Thomas, president presi-dent of the University of Utah, spoke. He said the habit of seeing beautiful things should be cultivated, culti-vated, especially among the yoiuig and urged support of the production produc-tion of artists of the intermonntain territory. Notable among the paintings shown were "Afternoon on Provo Bench," picturing a scene across the lake ; a Pleasant Grove scene entitled en-titled "A Day in June"; scenes from American Fork canyon and a view of trees silhouetted against a glowing glow-ing sky, called "Friendly Trees." The work of other leading Utah artists will be shown in Ihe chamber rooms during the next few weeks. |
