Show Leading Men of Community Interested in Movement Says President F. S. Harris Every district iu Provo is organized organ-ized and has begun work on the Scout, drive for funds, according to Senator Leltoy Dixon, chairman of finance in the central district of Timpanogos council. "We expect every district in our locality to go over tbe top this week," Senator Dixon said. "I am going to call for a report of progress this- evening. Our allotment is such that I believe our I"rovo people will put the drive over this year without any real difficulty." This year, according to Mr. Dixon, the drive is being conducted simultaneously simul-taneously in all of thq various stakes and districts of the council. This entire week has been set aside for the scout activity. Some of the ablest and busiest men in central Utah are giving their time and their, money to Scouting in an effort to, carry on a program here that will fit every boy of the council for a useful-manhood, according ac-cording to F. S. Harris, president of the council. All of these men, except ex-cept the executive give their ser-vics ser-vics absolutely free and besides contribute con-tribute their quota to the cause. "Although the scout program costs money," President Harris said, "these men believe that the service rendered is worth th rnnuy." "It costs $5,000 to raise a boy, according ac-cording to statistics," said Scout Executive A. A. Anderson. "Would it not then be worth while to add to that cost of overhead a few extra dollars that will make the product good? If a man had spent that much on a fine horse, he would not hesitate to spend an extra five dollars dol-lars or ten dollars on him if he : : j ing it. ; "The Tintic district is strong for J scouting," said Thomas Dyches, of !
