PLEASANT GitOVE, June C Everything conies to him who waits. This is an old, old saying and it was demonstrated here Saturday. Strawberry day, rain-delayed aim much postponed, came to the thousands thous-ands of Utah citizens who had been J looking forward with eager antic; pation to the celebration of whai bids fair to become the most union -of nil of Utah's festivals. For a city the size of Pleasant Pleas-ant Grove to stage so gorgeous ane pretentious a parade is worthy o? the highest commendation. It is doubtful if a more beautiful and varied parade has ever been staged In any intermountnin counrty. The parade was more than two miles long and contained floats and fharaclers both inspiring and dazzling. dazzl-ing. It was viewed by thousands Vf people in automobiles lined on joth sides of" the strets in the city and half a male south of the city on the state road. Among the most beautiful of the ninny elegant floats were those ol the Pleasant Grove Floral company, the Ilarley Greaves Mercantile, tin-Hedquist tin-Hedquist Drug, the Pleasant Grove bank and . the float deleting Sweden, entered in the parade b.v the Anderson, Newman and Holda-wny Holda-wny sisters. Miss Jewel Linebangh as Strawberry Straw-berry day queen in an attractive float, followed the unique and artistic ar-tistic Strawberry float. Mr. am: Mrs. A. P. Wnruick as Uncle Sam and Columbia depicted their roles especially well, as did the many participants representing the various var-ious nations. The costumes of these participants were striking and colorful color-ful and added materially to the success suc-cess of the parade. Surprise and delight were expressed ex-pressed by the thousands of visitor to the city at the grandeur of tho parade and many complimentary comments were made. Immediately following the parade, thousands of people lined up at the strawberry booths where free berries ber-ries were distribute. Tim t Strawberry Straw-berry day is one of the real celebration celebra-tion of Utah was evident, from the fact that people were present from almost every section of tho state. Many of these people had been in the city since Wednesday when the celebration had to lie postponed due to the rainy weather. OSLO. June 11.
