Show Springville Boys Are On Aggie Team Myron (Jack) Childs, manager of the Utah Aggies basketball squad, and son of Mr. and Mrs. J. D. Childs of Springville, left Salt Lake Christmas morning for Los Angeles where the Aggies will meet the University of Southern California Califor-nia on Friday and Saturday evenings. eve-nings. Vadal Childs, brother of the manager, is on the Aggie squad, but did not accompany the team to the coast. He is spending part of his vacation with his parents. Mrs. Hattic Blackett of this city announce the engagement of her daughter, Merle, tc Alton Packard, son of Mr. and Mis. M. O. Packard, also of Springville. The marriage will take place early in January and soon after the young couple will leave for Seattle, Wash., where Mr. Packard is manager of one of the O. P. Skaggs' chain stores. Thc annual Christmas party of the Mother's Study club was held at the home of Mrs. J. W. Whiting Saturday afternoon. Gifts were exchanged among the ladies present pres-ent and a splendid program was given as follows: instrumental music, Miss Marie and Venice Whiting Whit-ing and Verl Whiting; club quartet, with Mrs. Nell AHeman, Mrs. Mar-jorie Mar-jorie Bird, Mrs. Gene Pierce, Mrs. Beth Dallin taking part; Christmas I story, Mrs. John Burt; Christmas story. Mrs. Nell AHeman. A beautiful beauti-ful Christmas tree and other holiday holi-day emblems added to the attractiveness attract-iveness of thc entertaining rooms. A dainty lunch was a fitting conclusion conclu-sion to the splendid time enjoyed by 20 members and two guests picsent. A large number of people went from Springville to attend the Masonic Ma-sonic dance held in Provo Saturday evening. Among them were Mr. and Mrs. Eric Borman, Mr. and Mrs. E. F. Perham, Mr. and Mrs. Ray Robertson, Mrs. H. E. Urquhart, Mrs. F. W. Hoffman and Mr. and Mrs. L. L. Baker. P. club of this city. A beautiful Christmas tree was the outstanding decorative feature of the entertaining rooms.
